Peter Opsahl began his structural engineering career with Skilling Ward Magnusson Barkshire (currently "Magnusson Klemencic Associates") in 1983. He was responsible for the Design, Project Management, and Construction Administration of a wide variety of large and unique projects. These projects included convention centers, medical facilities, low to high-rise commercial and multi-family residential projects.
In March of 1997, Peter moved to Swenson Say Fagét (SSF), a firm with a strong community service focus. While at SSF, Peter’s experience was concentrated on institutional, residential, and renovation projects. Many of the projects that Peter worked on have ties to community service organizations, with an emphasis on education and public service.
Since January 2001, Peter has been sole proprietor of his own structural consulting firm. His practice is anchored in a commitment to outstanding service to each client based on his extensive experience in the management of a wide variety of project types.
In May of 2007, Peter was elected to the Board of Directors for the Seattle Chapter of the Structural Engineers Association of Washington.
Peter holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (Cum Laude) from Seattle University. He is certified by the Structural Engineering Certification Board, and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the following states:
